We just returned from Uniworld's 15 day "Splendors of China and the Grand Yangtze" tour. The land portion was great but the Yangtze cruise portion was terrible. We were on the Victoria Prince which was literally falling apart, the veranda door lock was broken, the hall carpets were lumpy, and the floors in the lounge and on the sun deck had bumps that made noise when walked upon. Many passangers (from other tours) constantly smoked in their rooms and refused to stop when requested by the ship's staff, so the hallways smelled of cigarette smoke. Worst of all the food was not high quality and was repetitious, and all 3 meals were buffet though page 10 of the brochure clearly states "Western and Chinese buffets are offered at breakfast and lunch. In the evening, you'll enjoy open seating and an elegant, full-course dining experience." That is a false statement. We had been on 2 other Uniworld tours that were excellent but will never travel with Uniworld again. No stars for Uniworld.
