In May 2010, Universal Air & Heat advertised an a/c conditioning service for $19.00 with specific actions (1 lb free freon, 21 point analysis, flush drainline maintenance). Besides arriving at a time other than scheduled, the serviceperson, according to his own statement, put in 2 1/2 lbs of freon and as I later learned, charged for 6 lbs of freon as part of a "kit." And, other actions stated as part of the $19.00 service fee were not done although the service fee was charged. No 1 lb free of freon, no 21 point analysis, no flush drainline maintenance. Personally, not being an expert in a/c maintenance or repair, I was not aware of the deception at the time and signed the order form to pay the $269.00 fee (which, as it turns out, should have ony been $79.00). After I tried to dispute the charge by calls to the company and also with my credit card, the company cited the signed form as proof that I owed the entire amount. Buyer beware of this company!
