I was contacted by this company several months ago and was desperate for help with my mortgage at the time. The lawyer that I spoke with told me everything he was going to do and it sounded great. With the exception of providing them with my checking account number I felt like I was actually going to get some help. The first conversation took place on a Saturday and they were supposed to take $2500 out of my checking account. I slept on this decission and didnt like the way i felt about it, so I contacted the company and told them my feelings and they said no problem, give us a call if we can help you in the future. Since then my lender was willing to work with me and we came up with a modification that lowered my payment about $800 a month. No fees, no penalties. Everythings great right? Last month i started getting calls from United Law Group DEMANDING the $2500. I explained that I contacted them the next business day to cancel the transaction and by the way, no money was ever taken out of my account which has since been closed. So no money exchanged, no services provided but somehow I still owe them $2500, I guess for the 10 minute phone call. Now there in the process of suing me for the money. Every time they call to collect the money I speak to Jack, and Jack thinks hes got the right verbally assult people and talk down to them. Jack's lucky that he's in California and I'm in Phoenix. Nobody should be treated this way. I will fight this till the bitter end. Use at your own risk!
