My truck (Nissan Frontier) got backed into in July/08, I Googled body shops in Ventura picked 3 to check out. The first which will remain nameless, looked at what scratches I had pointed out and within minutes I had a quote in my hand was sent on my way. Second stop was Tip Top Body & Paint Shop, I pointed out the same scratches...which was turned out to be the minimal damage. They pointed out more damage that I as a Jane Doe would not know to look for. My fender was not damage per say, but it was pushed by the impact out of its original position. There was about 1/2 an inch gap between my fender and my head light, which there should be little to none as I saw on the other side. There was also a gap between my hood and the fender, it was almost touching my passenger door. They also pointed out my headlight, it was chipped and scratched. OMG, I thought, I had totally over looked that. How did I not notice, but it made perfect sense...she hit my light which pushed my fender with out car to car impact on the fender itself. As Jose began to educate myself and my significant other it was also brought to my attention that my plastic wheel trimming had been damaged as well, her car had rubbed up against my tire upon impact. I once again didn't see too much visual damage, but the plastic trimming was no longer secure...we could pull it away from the truck about 3-5 inches. It went from minor scratches, but noticeable and an eye sore to structural and broken pieces. My first quote was under $500 (only the scratches) to approx $1,300 for the complete and thorough evaluation/estimate of all the damage.
Jose and Maria were tremendously helpful!!! They explained everything on the quote, answered all my questions, and educated me on my rights. They have very helpful information on their site, I encourage everyone to read and look into their rights as a consumer and car insurance client. I did not leave with any questions or doubts on my mind. I was beyond satisfied with their complete and timely service, which I did not bother to go to the third body shop. I knew as I walked away, "I am getting my truck fixed here, without a question or doubt."
I had my insurance broker take pictures and his estimate at Tip Top's as soon as that was taken care of, they immediately started working on my truck with my pre-approval of course. They also have this amazing online service, where you log in and see pictures of your vehicle’s progress. I really like their service, work and customer service. All my questions or concerned were answered, if Maria didn't know the answer to my question she didn't hesitate to ask and went the extra mile to find out.
My truck looked new; I could almost say it was not mine, it looked 100x better than when I bought it (used). My plastic trimming was sun and water damaged and really faded, I was concerned about the mismatch in color (new versus old parts). To my surprise, they washed, cleaned and conditioned my truck, all my trimmings looked the same...NEW!!! They had their luster and color back, it was as if my truck stepped into a time machine and returned to it's original beauty on the Dealer lot as car of the year. It looked so much nicer than when I bought it!!!!
Tip Top Body & Paint Shop went above and beyond, and I am no one special, first time customer. They exceeded my expectations beyond what I can express!!! They are honest, hardworking, knowledgeable and an amiable company...and they have a great sense of humor! Good way to cheer up your gloomy days, no one expects or likes accidents, but it is nice to have a laugh or two.
I will continue to rant about their amazing service and quality of work for many years to come!!!
