Today I went to St. Francis Medical Center because my wife started to get bad cramps and was spotting blood, by the way she is 1 month pregnant. I got there at 10:30 a.m., through the Emergency Room. We did not get to the 2nd waiting room until 1:20 p.m. From there we waited until 2:30 p.m. A nurse was talking to a patient, the poor guy looked like he was having it bad and the nurse told him the waiting time to see the doctor would be anywhere from 3 to 7 hours. The guy started to cry, I felt bad. So finally we were passed on to the actual ER Room and the nurse gave my wife some ripped clothes to put on, the room was dirty, it looked like it hadn't been mopped in days. There was a container with someone's urine in it right on the side of the door, I waited about 30 minutes and then I grabbed some gloves and put the container in a sink that was outside of our room. So we waited about an hour to see a doctor after we were first brought into the room. She took some notes on the pain and then aid that a nurse would come out soon to see her and take a urine test, blood sample & an ultrasound. All of this took over an hour for them to actually start. I started to get disappointed so I went on the hall to see if the nurse was coming and one of the doctors told me very rudely, "Sir, I'm going to need you to stay in your room, or go wait in the waiting room." I told him that the room was very cold and dirty and I was just looking to see when someone was actually going to help us. He told me, "yes I'm sure you are, but If your not going to be in that room I need you to leave, you can not be dwelling in these halls, it is for the other patients privacy, we need to respect their privacy." I was pretty mad but I just went into my room, how can he talk about people's privacy, when there were people in the halls, on beds, that were there when we were taken to the 2nd waiting room. People were crying in the hall, and other people were walking around them, I did not see anyone telling them to leave or any nurses helping them out. A couple of minutes later I saw the doctor standing next to a desk where a female nurse was at and they were laughing, people were dying and in pain and he's over there playing games around people who need privacy. I will never ever ever ever go to this hospital again, that was by far the worst experience I ever lived. We finally left the hospital at 6 p.m. I can not believe that hospitals treat people this way, I don't wish this place to shut down I just wish they had better staff and better management. May God bless them and give them all the help they can get to help those patients.
