I have dealt with PSA for well over 10 years -- grading thousands of cards over the years. And while I received decent service say 5 or 7 years ago -- its a very different story now. Here are my opinions... My biggest complaint (among many), is how useless their service has become -- by way of worthless grades and damaged cards. I used to be disappointed with perhaps 20-25% of the grades that came back, and I was ok with that because I realize I can't have every grade go my way --- but now I find as much as 90% of my cards are coming back worthless, with some cards being given grade 2 or even 3 grades lower than they should. -- What's worse, I find they will damage at least 1 or 2 cards in any large order. I only had 1 card damaged by them during the 1st 5 years of using PSA, and now it happens all the time. ---- the entire reason to grade with PSA is to make your cards more valuable --- and instead they are coming back worthless. Out of the last 100 cards I graded with them, I busted over 60 of them out of the holders. -- in my opinion this happens for a few reasons, they hope collectors will resend cards receiving bad grades, and get paid again for grading the same card ( which I've done many times, rarely getting the same grade twice --consistency?) --- lower grades also keeps PSAs population report in check, furthering their existence. --- and unfortunately PSA no longer lakes any accountability, and there is no one to protect the customer. Sometimes you may get lucky and receive a few good grades -- making your cards more valuable, but sadly, the only winning move I see in this game of grading cards -- is not to use PSA. Hopefully they can find a way to be more careful and consistent with the cards of their customers in the future, for now I cannot recommend using them.
