My HOA recently hired Pelican Pools to do a total remodel on our pool area, including replastering both the pool and spa. While he appeared confident and thorough, our experience was that of disappointment. We did our bidding process and chose him, John Triesh, over other, larger companies due to his referrals and his price. We found that he did not supervise the project as he brought in subs nor did he communicate effectively with us as items needed changing or altering.
On several occasions we found his employees were not supervised and performed sloppy work on the concrete deck, spa plaster and tile.
He also added several items (change orders)without prior approval and expected payment in full. This is not the first time he has had issues with clients, as there is another review reflecting this. Please be concerned when hiring John as his license is very new and he didn't prove to instill confidence in us that the job will be fixed if problems arise.
