My experience with Oxford Seminars for their TEFL program has been a nightmare! After numerous phone calls inquiring about their seminar to be sure it would be the right match for my job prospects in Europe, I was told by a representative of the company that I should place a $95 deposit to hold my spot. So I did this. Then I started making calls and inquiries overseas to Europe, to be sure that this course would satisfy the employers specifications in regards to training. I soon learned it would not! So I immediately called Oxford to cancel my class and was told a supervisor would have to call me back. One of the people I spoke with was named Taya. She was hard to understand and I had to repeatedly as her to repeat herself. It was as though she had a speech impediment. I had called before the two week window, which meant I was entitled to my $95 deposit being returned to me. Well no one called the next day, and when I called on Saturday, two days later to inquire as to why I was not called, they said they could not get through on my phone. I have more than one number and had left both with Oxford. When I reached a rep on Saturday she informed me it was too late to get my refund now because it was less than two weeks before the seminar was to start. This is so untrue. I wonder how many others have had similar experiences with this company. They attempt to keep your money any way they can, even on a technicality. I talked to Joe, a supervisor, who was less than helpful as well. He would not budge from his position, saying he had listened to the call and did not think I had asked for a refund. I clarified with him that I had major concerns and expressed them with the reps that I spoke with. He made a big point of saying I had not asked specifically for a refund. I said that was not true. We could have been going back and forth for a half hour. What happened to the customer being right? What has happened in our society that gives no rights to the customer and all the rights to the opposing side?! I would not recommend these guys to my worst enemy!!! They give TEFL/TESOL a bad name!! They are totally out for the money and do not care if you are able to use their course to gain employment. Do not be fooled by the Money Back Guarantee either! If they will fight this hard to keep $95, forget getting your $1000 back for the entire course. I am not forced to close my bank account due to this company's dishonest practices. I do not want them taking more than the $95 and since they have my credit card number, that is entirely possible. If they dare touch my account, I will sue them in a court of law. BUYER BEWARE should be added to this company's profile! You have been warned. Signed, Unhappy Customer.
