Jeff Collins of Open Road RV is a thief. His MO is to not return deposits.
Below is what I had to go through to get my deposit back from Jeff Collins. This is the letter I wrote to my credit card company in order to get my deposit refunded.

RE: Merchant Open Road RV, LLC Amount: $1540.00 Account: xxxx Case ID. 7677186
Dear Sir/Madam I rented a “Winnebago Vectra” motor home (Arizona license 892-SZD) from the above merchant over the 2007 Christmas holidays. The motor home rental required the above deposit upon taking possession and was to be returned 30 days after its return.
The motor home was returned on Monday 12/31/07 approx. 11:30 am. It was delivered by me unto the secured Open Road RV lot to unknown male Hispanic worker who took possession. The motor home was retuned 2 days early because the “fresh water” water pump did not function the entire trip.
I waited the 30 days for the return of my deposit but did not receive it. I called during the first week of Feb. 2008 and spoke to owner Jeff Collins who apologized for the delay. Jeff told me he would credit my account that day, it was not done. I went to Open Road RV in person approx. a week later and again spoke to Jeff Collins who again apologized for the delay. I heard him tell his employee “Pat” to credit my account, it was not done. During my conversation with Jeff he told me there were no issues with the return of the motor home and that he would credit me for the two days because the water pump did not work, that was not done.
I did a little research on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) web site and found that Jeff Collins has a long history of not returning deposits. http://www.labbb.org I wish I would have checked with BBB before I did business with this crook.
Thank you for your help.
