Extended warranty reference # 3073634
I purchase a sony laptop from sonystyle.com with 3 year extended warranty plan on 07/24/2007. now after 2 years I have multiple problems with my laptop: cd-rom is not working, sound disappeared and most important recent issue is my lcd screen stopped working. you can still see some of it but barely, it's deemed to point that you cannot see anything.
On 8/24/09 I called extended warranty service and scheduled a pick up and delivery to the service office. In a couple of days I received it back with a refusal of service. I called them again and found out that they accused me of spilling the water on the laptop which caused a circuit damage. Which is not true, in fact laptop stopped working right in the middle of typing the email...
They send it back to me unrepaired. After talking to customers service supervisors they asked me to fax them a proof of purchase, and a proof of warranty. Which I did and they said they will take a look at it again. So I shipped it back for repair again and again the same outcome they claimed it was water damaged and is not entitled for repair, also laptop arrived without back case screws.
I’m a computer specialist for over 10 years myself and I know how to treat computer equipment, so claiming that it was water damaged is absurd. I know that sony is not the most reliable brand therefore I purchased the extended warranty for it. When my computer broke it was very hot I could barely touch it, so I’m pretty sure the main reason is a purely designed heat sink.
Now, after several month of back and force calls, shippings and paper work I’m nowhere with a broken laptop.
I do not recommend to anyone to deal with this company.
