I encourage you to read your contract. The reason is MD is a client for attorneys. The Barnes Firm , LLP of GA was our assigned atty. The attorney offers an array of legal services. One of the services offered is bankruptcy filing services. If you sign an agreement for their debt solution service, you will need to file bankruptcy after all is said and done. I checked the web a day after I had signed the agreement for their services and decided to cancel. Trying to cancel after (1) day was the biggest hassle. Numerous calls went back & forward and finally on the 3rd day I sent certified letters to MD & the atty. Only after I agreed to talk to them and they ask me silly questions, did they finally say that my file was closed. It was too scary knowing that this company would have my money and they would only start to negotiate my debt after they have accumulated all funds paid into the plan. Your creditors would be suing you, garnishing your paycheck and filing liens against you long before the atty start to negotiate your debt. That is why the bankruptcy filing service is offered and mentioned as a part of your contract. Stay away from MD.
