It is difficult for a small-ish business getting reasonable rates as we do not have the gross sales and clout of the regional/national chains. Meritus promises to be the exception for businesses like ours. Our experience has typically soured after our signing on with a personalized company/bank being swallowed up in a short time by a "conglomerate" faceless, impersonal multinational with cascading "hidden" rates and inscrutable fees. This was the case recently when we left TransFirst (TransLink) after many happy years. We were very pleased to discover Meritus with its down-to-earth agreements/contract and personal interaction with us... we have high hopes that Meritus payment Solutions will remain "merchant-friendly".
