Failed to recognize the early cancellation fee of $875

I opened an account with Merchant One and then suffered a case of buyer's remorse. I tried to cancel only to be informed that there was an $875 early-cancellation fee. I guess I failed to read the fine print when I submitted my online application. Needless to say, I withdrew my request to close the account. So as it stands, I will not use their service, but they will draw $4.95 per month from my bank account for the next three years. For the time being, that seems to be the acceptable alternative. I'm amazed how corporations work.
