As of July 2011 I strongly recommend Melrose Discount Furniture is an excellent place to buy furniture in LA. I bought several rooms of furniture from them, including two bedroom sets, a dinning room set, an entertainment center, a coffee table, and some end tables. All of this come at very reasonable prices with free and courteous delivery AND assembly. (Note I live relatively close to their store, if you live far afield you may have to pay for delivery.) One of the items I ordered (the dining room table) had a significant chip when taken out of the box. I pointed it out and they exchanged it for a undamaged table with no hassle. All of the items I bought were solidly made and probably saved me hundreds if not thousands off of even IKEA prices. If you like shopping online this place is great. If you want to head down to the store you can talk to a real person to guide you through a bunch of catalogs to help you pick out what works best for you. Either online or in person this is a great place to buy furniture.
