I too was taken by ARLG - 1950.00 and nothing but empty promises and they could never answer my questions. So after 6 months of phone calls, emails, faxes (the same info over and over again). I told them to give me money back or I was going to contact the Florida Bar Association. They refused so I completed a complaint form and sent it in. Its been about a year and I am working with the Bar to get my money back.
My best advice is file a complaint with the FL Bar. Its pretty easy and enough of us complain they will have to take some action against these scam artists. I only hope I get my money back as I am currently unemployed and that will help keep me in home a little longer while searching for a job.
Then contact HOPENOW (888-995-HOPE) - it is a non profit that asks nothing from you except your help and your documents - they did help me -- wasn't great but my house payment is 400.00 lower than when ARLG got involved and my rate is fixed. It's still too high but I hope to someday figure out how to get someone else to take my loan and evaluate my payment history and credit rating and give me a reasonable interest rate. Currently with WELLS-FARGO and they are practising interest rate gouging in my opinion. Best of luck to you all.
