I have, unfortunately, been dealing with this company for over a year. It started with a debt from the hospital I had my daughter at, sending over a debt that was already paid. I thought I had this mistake resolved with the hospital and it's not until I get a letter from the collection agency that I find out that it is obviously not resolved. The hospital claims that because they already sold my account to this collection agency there is nothing else they can do about it. Whatever! So I just send over all of my information to the collection agency (bank statement - showing a debit from the hospital for the amount they are asking for and other paperwork from my insurance company). They person that had my account said they would look into everything that I sent over. I didn't hear anything from him again. I received another phone call from someone at Grant & Weber saying they were in charge of my account now. The thing is they were starting from the beginning as if they had no knowledge of my previous conversation with someone else at their company. I told them about the first person I spoke to about all the information I already faxed over. They replied by saying that person was no longer employed with the company. I say ok and fax everything over again because I just want to be done with it. A couple weeks pass and I call to check in with the person. I don't get an answer so I leave a message. Call again a couple days later and someone tells me this person is out sick but will leave a message for them on their desk. I call a week later and I am told that that person is no longer with the company. So I fax it over for a third time to a DIFFERENT person who says, THEY ARE GOING TO LOOK INTO IT. I just checked my credit yesterday and it now says that one of the negative things affecting my credit score is the fact that I have an unresolved account in collections and it has been there for over a year.
What a joke. It is bad enough that when you do somethings that affect your credit score there is little to nothing you can do to reverse it. Doesn't matter if it's from 3 months or 3 years ago. It is so much worse when something is affecting your credit that shouldn't even be there in the first place!!
Grant & Weber is the most irresponsible, unprofessional company I have ever come in contact with.
If you know that the turnover in your company could effect people in this way then have better management, so they can keep everything going.
