I highly recommend that you DO NOT do business with this company. This is my story....The man who identified himself as the VP of the company came to our home and dazzled us with the lifetime warranty offered with the tex-cote application. I'm sure you are familiar with this texture.....you can read about it all over the internet from numerous companies that will tell you that it will not fade, chip, peel or crack and if it ever does they will come out and fix it for free. This man told us the same thing. He even provided us with references and lots of pictures of other peoples homes. All the material he showed us had the Tex Cote name on it.
He explained that the reason it was so expensive was because it did hold the lifetime warranty and the material it was made from was "special". It also had to be applied by experienced tex-cote specialists. The "experienced tex-cote specialists" pulled up in my driveway in an old pick up truck. There were several of them so some of them were simply in the back of the pick up. None of them spoke or understood english and of course did not wear any sort of uniform or have any form of id showing that they were from this company. This is when we should have kicked them out and got our money back but the "VP" pulled up shortly after that and assured us that they really knew what they were doing.
Anyway, within two years it started cracking and chipping. When I called the company back I talked to the "owner" who said these words to me, "Are you crazy? We don't warranty that. Of course it will crack and peel, we live in California and we have earthquakes." He said that they warrantied their work for 1 year only and anything beyond that had to be worked out with the Tex-cote company directly. He said to call them and maybe they would send me a bucket of material but we would have to put it on ourselves. I was so insulted by the way he spoke to me I felt as if I had actually been slapped in the face.
After several calls getting me nowhere, my family decided that what we really want is someone to come out and remove the remaining tex cote material. It is falling off the side of my house in sheets, peeling off in multiple areas and the parts that still look intact are actually buckling from the wall. You can push it with your finger and then it will crack off. So, we really don't want it "fixed" we just want it "gone".
Even after it was fresh and new, it never really looked "good", it really resembles the texture of cottage cheese. You should know that before purchasing. The photos they show you do not show that. They also slopped it all over our fences, all the hardware on our doors, sprayed it over telephone cords and under the eaves of my tile roof (of course that part is not coming off!)
I'm writing this review because I hope to educate others to not be swayed by the sales people that come to your home to sell you this product. They are there for their commission only and most of the time they do not represent the companies for very long.
I am happy to provide pictures to anyone who wishes to see them. I'm sure there are some legitimate companies out there who can provide this product the way it is advertised but in my research (a little too late) I'm not finding anyone who is actually happy with it. My neighbor is experiencing the same thing right now and he used a different company. We are both hoping to have it removed and re-stucko soon however I now have to pay the expense of having it removed first and then to have the stucko done as we should have done from the beginning.
