30 Years of Experience and Excellence…”I DOUBT it!
Lie #1:They have access to the SAME phone numbers you and I do...No more! Our open and direct lines of communication with the country’s principal mortgage lenders also make the most beneficial bankruptcy and foreclosure options more accessible, ensuring that our clients stand a better chance at regaining financial stability.Really? My "negotiator" claimed she couldn't get through to them via phone for days at a time and when she did, they didn't call her back! How impressive!
Lie #2:They have as much CLOUT in the industry as you or I do...No more! However, their website states..."We believe that a broad and thorough understanding of how and why the debt settlement process works is a requirement for successful debt negotiation. We apply decades of research and modern development to each case we receive, giving painstaking attention to detail in order to minimize unnecessary delays in the processing. Our accommodating and personalized service not only provides assistance with loan modification but it also makes a pool of valuable resources readily available to consumers. These, along with advanced strategies and creditor relationships, have resulted in many successful negotiated modifications and satisfied clients." Again, there is NO indication that any such skill exists. My lender didn't even know who they were 2 months after I had paid them!
BBB Report My initial phone consultation was very reassuring. I made an initial payment over the phone and was assured by the intake specialist that the firm had close relationships and a lot of clout in this industry. This excerpt from their website was cinched it for me... "With our team of reputable lawyers and highly-skilled debt analysts, we have forged unique and lasting relationships with several major creditors and mortgage companies." Actually, they have no more clout than if I called the lender myself. I've been told multiple times that, “This is what the bank says; there's nothing I can do, sorry." At least a dozen times I've been told that, "We've left numerous phone messages and they haven't returned our call." Yeah, that's impressive. The best one is, "I've been on hold for up to an hour trying to check on your file and don't have any other number to call than the one number provided." Again, they have demonstrated as much industry clout as I have which is ZERO. "Negotiators" are assigned but no actual negotiating takes place. Whatever the bank rep tells the "negotiator" working on my behalf is they way it is. Again, no actual negotiating clout, inside relationships, not even phone numbers that work. At this point the process has dragged on for 6 months with no end in sight. Penalty fees are getting racked up by the day and I've never even spoken to an actual attorney yet! This is definitely one of those scams that have been reported in the news and I feel I've been HAD.
Summary I paid $3000 in June '09 for loan modification. Strung along for 6 months. No sign of actual negotiation. They simply pass info to me from my bank to me, period. No attorney contact for months. I finally got an attorney to call me, Marilyn Thommssen, who knew very little about my file. Told me she would “get with” someone more knowledgeable and call me back. She never did. Instead I received a letter in the mail stating that her firm could no longer help me along with a refund check. Happy about the refund but now I’m left to fight with the bank without representation after following their poor advice for months.
Action Wanted Service/results do not in any way match advertisements and info I received in phone consult. Company claims on website completely exaggerated. The company should resolve my case, as promised, not just leave me hanging.
