A scamming, deceitful organization.
First of all, American Radio Network advertises employment for radio announcers for their "vast network", reeling you in, and then once you pay for your orientation, security deposit and contractually integrate yourself into their production system, then tells you that there is no employment available. The only choice is to pay for the radio shows you have signed up to do by yourself or, as they encourage, by acquiring advertisers. Shifty!
Second, when you actually produce your own radio shows, they insist on accepting cassette tapes only, not CDs or simple digital transmission in the form of an MP3 online. And you must use THEIR cassettes, a privilege they charge you an extra $3 for, even though they admit that receiving CDs is their preferred format! Sneaky!
Third, should you try to withdraw from their "program" they will apparently seek to find any means to prevent returning your deposit, even if you followed their instructions to a T. (I know; I currently have a complaint filed with BBB against this rogue organization, and shall be contacting the District Attorney's office in addition to suing them in small claims court, if necessary.)
I feel incredibly ripped off by this company, but I should have known by the condition of their building and the heap of aging, broken equipment in their "studios".
Stay clear of this company or proceed at your own risk.
