I needed to find a Gemologist to appraise my mother’s jewelry for distribution purposes. It was important to have someone value the jewelry from her estate to make sure that there was an equal distribution to everyone in the family. My mother had an extensive collection; diamond jewelry, colored stone jewelry, gold jewelry, and costume jewelry. She loved to wear jewelry, authentic or costume, if it made her happy she wore it. We were referred to American International Gemologists by our Family Lawyer, and my mother’s insurance agent. I called and spoke with Sandy; she listened to my story and then explained their services. She connected with me right away. She told me that they had a lot of experience with just this sort of appraisal. I made an appointment to meet with the appraisers later that week.
I met with Norman. He was kind and understanding. Sandy was right; Norman did have the experience that I was looking for. He directed the staff to identify and grade the jewelry quickly and efficiently. This process took most of the afternoon, but when we left, I was sure that we had come to the right place.
The process of the distribution is over now. I am glad to have gone up to Thousand Oaks to have American International Gemologists do the appraisal for me. I don’t think that I could have done this without their help.
