This company contacted my wife when I was out to sea, proposing that she stops payments on our mortgage so we can get the rate down from 7.9% to less than 3%. The person (James Maxwell) claimed also to be affiliated with our current mortgage broker . The person demanded an up front fee of $750.00 for "processing fee's" which immediately was processed. When I returned from sea two months later, Chase notified me of my current mortgage status and that they have not been contacted by any outside modification company, which Lauren from American Help Center claimed. I have left countless phone messages on the answering service and no reply as of today 2/14(since they have processed the $750.00 fee they have stopped answering) This company appears to be a fraud and I strongly encourage others to give this company a wide berth.
