Pretty Sure it's a Scam
|
After live chat with someone named "Mark" I paid via PayPal to have 2500 people in the area where our bird was last seen called, this cost $249.95. As soon as the payment was made I lost contact with Mark. I did not receive a confirmation email and was unable to login to the site.
That's when I began to worry and started looking them up on the internet and found plenty of scam reports about them, so I called their toll-free number and got a message that it was offline, then I called about 10 of the phone numbers listed on their "success stories" page with no success either. I then sent them an angry and slightly forceful email asking them to contact me immediately as I felt that there was something wrong.
Within 10 minutes of sending this email I got one from PayPal saying that Pet Amber Alert had refunded my entire payment, which was followed with a email from Pet Amber Alert stating that they are not a scam, all of their phone reps went home at 5PM and they had refunded my money.
I don't understand the immediate refund, in fact I don't understand their actions at all, but at least I was able to get my money back with very little hooplah!
I feel really bad for anyone who has paid these people with no results and no refund. It's been hard enough losing our lovely little cockatoo, it would just make it even more heartbreaking to also be scammed out of so much money because of that loss and the lengths we go to because we love her.
I gave 1 star because I can't give none and because they at least gave my money back.
