I had a debt with Direct TV for $177. Allied interstate was the collector for Direct TV. On March 2, 2009, I settled the debt for $100. I never received a settlement letter and later was sent a bill for the remainder $77 from another collection agency. I called Allied Interstate and was told that my payment was a partial payment and I still owe the remainder and then I was hung up on. When I had made the deal, I was told the debt would be settled for the $100 and they took it out of my checking account. Now knowing that they would have made advanced arraignments for the remainder of the bill if this was a partial payment (which is standard procedure), I was fraudulently lied to by Allied Interstate. I cannot get a hold of Direct TV because the case was sent to a collection agency. This is illegal and needs to stop. Do not trust this company
