I spoke with a person my first call and he was insistent that I return the call after I faxed them a copy of my power of attorney since I was calling on behalf of my son. The second call a woman answered whose English was not very good. First she said if I paid with a debt card there would be a $13.95 fee. I asked about a check, then she said there would be a $6.95 fee. I asked how I could get around paying a "transaction fee". I could not understand and she put her manager on who did not speak the English language well either. By the end of the conversation I was down to a $3.95 fee. I said that I had never heard of paying a transaction fee to settle an account. He proceeded to tell me he was working within the law. I told him I was not paying anything until I checked with the better business bureau. Now I am glad I did. I will contact the company who my son owes and pay them directly or not at all.
