MY FAMILY WAS IN A TIGHT SPOT AND WE NEEDED TO FIND A HOME. I CONTACTED ADVANCE SERVICES AND THEY ASSURED ME THAT THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO GET ME INTO A HOUSE THE SAME DAY I GAVE THEM $180 IN CASH. THEY GAVE ME 6 MAPS OF HOUSES THEY SAID WERE FOR RENT. EVERYONE ONE OF THEM WAS HIGHER IN RENT THAN I HAD REQUESTED BUT I WENT TO LOOK AT THEM ANYWAY. TWO OF THE HOUSES WERE NOT LIVABLE. I SELECTED A HOUSE AND WENT BACK TO THEIR OFFICE TO FILL OUT PAPERWORK. THE AGENT SAT IN FRONT OF ME AND MADE A PHONE CALL CLAIMING HE WAS TALKING TO THE HOME OWNER. THE AGENT TOLD ME THAT THE HOME OWNER WOULD BE CALLING ME IN A HOUR. WHEN NO CALL HAD COME IN, I WENT BACK TO THE HOUSE ONLY TO DISCOVER THAT THE HOME WAS NOT FOR RENT AND NO ONE HAD FROM ADVANCE SERVICES HAD EVER TALKED TO THE OWNER. IN THE DAYS FOLLOWING, I MADE SEVERAL CALLS TO ADVANCE SERVICES AND ON THE FEW TIMES SOMEONE ANSWERED THE PHONE, THE AGENT I SPOKE TO AND CUCTOMER SERVICE WERE NEVER AVAILABLE. I FINALLY RECIEVED A CALL BACK FROM THE OFFICE MANAGER. SHE TOLD ME SHE WOULD AUTHORIZE THE REFUND OF MY DEPOSIT AND TEHN TRIED TO TALK ME INTO LOOKING AT MORE HOUSES. AT THIS POINT, I JUST WANTED MY DEPOSIT BACK. A FEW DAYS LATER A MAN CALLED ME AND TOLD ME I HAD TO WAIT 90 DAYS TO GET MY DEPOSIT BACK. I ASKED FOR HIM TO DELIVER A MESSAGE TO HIS BOSS THAT I NEEDED TO SPEAK TO HIM TO FILE A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE MISCONDUCT OF THE AGENT. HE LAUGHED AND SAID THAT NO SUCH REQUEST LIKE MINE COULD BE GRANTED. MY 90 DAYS HAVE LAPSED AND ALTHOUGH I MAKE FREQUENT CALLS, I STILL HAVE NOT RECIEVED MY DEPOSIT. THE OFFICE MANAGER IS NEVER THERE AND I SIT ON HOLD FOR 20 MINUTES FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. THE AGENTS THAT ANSWER THE PHONES ARE RUDE AND NEVER IDENTIFY THEMSELVES. ADVANCE SERVICES HAS BEEN SCAMMING AND DEFRAUDING PEOPLE FOR YEARS AND NEEDS TO BE STOPPED.
