Stay Away not Worth the Effort or Aggravation

Let me start off by saying that I own a enterprise software development company and have over thirty years experience in the IT industry. Thank said the current release of AccuPos (as of 7/31/13) would be considered early beta at best, and should have not been released to customers production environment. the "NEW" generation of software represents a complete paradigm shift from the earlier version (which I have never teated or used), i can only assume that previous version functioned, this version does not. I can only assume that the departure from the previous C++ development environment to Java was fueled by the desire to have a common code base between both the terminal and tablet systems, this decision was poor for a number of technical reasons. the tablets are non-functional and the application crashes regularly and is not usable by a server. In general the POS function of the application from the terminal seems to function as advertised you can lay out the screens easily, and associate buttons to items in you accounting system (in our case QuickBooks 2013). In our case we are a private club and most of our transactions are charged to account, selecting customers can be slow and cumbersome. Where this application really fails miserably is in its integration with QuickBooks a feature that when in the sales cycle they represent as a core competence. The system rarely successfully imports data into the accounting system, I think it has worked for us twice in four months. This failure does have a nice feature in that it will import transactions until there is an exception and then it stops so you have no idea which transactions were transferred and which were not. Each time the Link Adapter starts it attempts to reload the sequence, replicating the transactions in QuickBooks which creates a real mess for billing. We now have to maintain a separate POS company file and a Production file to eliminate the replication. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THIS APPLCATION TO TRANSFER DATA. So here we are now five months down the road with this vendor which brings us to support. The front line support guys are nice enough but completely ineffective, their go to move is “Your database is corrupted and must be reset”, read we are going to delete all of you billing data and don’t care about either lost sales of tax obligations. DON’T LET THEM DO IT. Our last call with their support operations manager, he accused us of modifying their software and was argumentative and insulting. They claim that we are the only customer with problem and that they cannot replicate the problem in the lab, we experience the opposite issue we cannot get it to function without errors. I have no confidence that they will be able to resolve the problem and now believe that they simply don’t care. THIS IS THE WORST SOFTWARE COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. BEWARE YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
